Council Training

    I help to integrate council into personal, professional, community, and familial contexts.

    The art of Council creates circles out of lines. Council is an old practice, an instinctual human way of connecting and communicating with ourselves, each other and our surroundings. Council opens windows of opportunity for people to be able to not only speak their truth, but be fully heard. Council gives value and purpose to the role of listening. 

• Council is a simple form of communication that occurs in a circle. 
• Council is about respecting all life, in order to do that we must be positioned in a way that we could see eye to eye. In council we sit literally and metaphorically at the same level. 
• Council is about connection; because of the circle form, each person could be; the beginning, the middle, or the end. Each person is required for the shape to be true. 
• Council is about relationships; is it a heartfelt communication that calls forth caring and compassion. 
• Council is about quality of living. 
• Roots of council originate with the roots of human culture. Around the world, people throughout documented history have enacted practices similar to council for so many different intentions including; story telling, conflict resolution, decision making, and connection. Council is not only Ancient, it is also modern; used in schools, rites of passage, governance and organizational management.
